SeaChange Partners with Turkey's Argela
(Wireless News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
SeaChange International, a provider of IPTV and video-on-demand (VOD)
software, systems and services, is partnering with Turkey-based Argela,
a provider of next-generation telecom solutions, to serve the growing
market for IPTV.
Turk Telekom, a telecommunications company in Europe, is the first
customer of the partnership, for which SeaChange is also providing
systems integration and professional services.
SeaChange and Argela said their combined product offering will enable
telco network operators to offer telephony, messaging, Internet access,
mobility services, VOD and personal video recording services that
integrate with their service delivery platforms (SDP). The companies
are partnered to bring these services to the rapidly growing market for
IPTV, which SNL Kagan estimates will reach at least 46 million
subscribers by 2012.
SeaChange brings the experience of software, systems integration and
service deployments spanning some the world's largest telcos including
Verizon, NTT-Communications (OnDemandTV) and Telus. Argela brings the
experience of developing, deploying and maintaining new generation
telecommunications solutions for telcos, which includes the Argela SDP,
the main building block of the Argela multiplay IPTV middleware
solution.
"We are excited to be working closely with Argela to deliver both
services and products to Turk Telekom," said Simone Sassoli,
SeaChange's Vice President, Broadband Networks, Europe, Middle East and
Africa. "Both companies are committed to expanding the types of
services that enrich the overall video viewing experience and increase
subscriber loyalty and revenues for operators worldwide."
Hakan Erdemli, Argela's Vice President in charge of Sales and
Marketing, said, "SeaChange and Argela are combining our deep know-how
and experience for a best-of-breed IPTV solution. The joint solution
will allow operators to offer IPTV service; hence increase revenues and
customer loyalty through innovative and distinguished services. We are
confident that our strong partnership with SeaChange will allow us to
keep bringing value to our customers globally."
