Motorola's MPEG-4 AVC network encoder selected By Midwest Video
Solutions
(Telecomworldwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
Mobile and broadband communications company Motorola Inc (NYSE: MOT)
announced on Friday (14 November) that Midwest Video Solutions LLC
(MVS), an IPTV headend services provider, has selected Motorola's
MPEG-4 Network Encoder for deployment by the end of 2008.
MVS will upgrade to the Motorola multi-channel MPEG-4 AVC network
encoder family, which will help MVS to migrate two diverse MPEG-2
headend platforms at separate locations to a single consolidated MPEG-4
platform. This will reportedly streamline the delivery of content while
accelerating the delivery of personalised media experiences and
increasing programming choice for customers.
Also, Motorola's network encoders will enable MVS to offer its member
base more flexibility in terms of IPTV service offering, reaching new
markets and providing more streams per household.
